Overview
This functionality is currently rolling out and may not be available on your account yet
Self-Managed Carrier Connections allow you to connect your own carrier accounts to CartonCloud using EasyPost, Shippit, or supported direct carrier integrations.
Once connected, you can access live rates, book shipments and print shipping labels directly within CartonCloud using your BYO carrier rates and/or via the walleted rates from EasyPost / Shippit.
Benefits
- Manage all shipments from within CartonCloud - compare rates, book shipments and print labels all from the Pack Screen.
- Use your existing carrier agreements and pricing.
- Access rate shopping across multiple carriers.
- Avoid separate subscriptions to EasyPost, Shippit or other Shipping software.
- Consolidate workflows into a single system.
Available Carriers
Supported carriers depend on the integration platform you are using:
- Direct Connections:
- Australia Post
- United States Postal Service (USPS)
How it works
You can connect carrier connections at two levels:
Organisation Level
- Carrier accounts are available across all customers
- Rates can be used across all Customers within your CartonCloud account
Customer Level
- Carrier accounts are specific to an individual customer
- Rates are only available when processing that customer’s orders
From the Pack Screen, you can compare rates across both levels.
Pack Screen
Carrier Connections are used directly within the Pack Screen, allowing you to view and select freight options during the packing process. Within the Shipping Rate window on the Pack Screen, you can:
- Compare live shipping rates
- Select a carrier and service
- Book freight
- Print shipping labels
See the Pack Screen Knowledge Base article for more information.
Walleted Rates vs BYO Rates
Walleted Rates
- Pre-negotiated rates with carriers provided by EasyPost and Shippit directly.
- Requires payment details to be entered into those platforms.
BYO Rates
- BYO rates are rates you already have established with the carrier outside of EasyPost or Shippit.
Carrier Selection Rules
Carrier Selection Rules allow you to automatically assign the most suitable carrier during packing. This reduces manual decision-making and ensures consistent carrier selection.
See here on how to set up Carrier Selection Rules.
Carrier Account Mapping
Carrier Account Mapping allows you to define a set of rules that automatically update the Carrier, Delivery Run, and Service Type on a Consignment after a shipment is booked through a Carrier Connection.
See here on how to set up Carrier Account Mapping.
