Nick is excited to start using CartonCloud’s WMS software and reap the benefits it will bring to the business, his staff and their customers. However, Coffee Warehousing and Distribution also operate a transport component, with almost 80% of their customer’s orders being delivered by their own drivers and fleet. As this is a sizable portion of their operations workflows and processes, Nick is interested to see how CartonCloud can assist.
The great thing for Nick is that CartonCloud also offers a transport management system that can be integrated with CartonCloud’s WMS, creating an automated and streamlined process from picking right through to delivering the order.
What can CartonCloud’s integrated WMS and TMS achieve?
If you are using CartonCloud’s WMS and TMS, there are many features and benefits that will increase efficiency and reduce administrative tasks in your workflow.
Rather than doubling up on data entry or administrative tasks, you can choose to have a transport job (Consignment) automatically created from a Sale Order. You can also choose what status the Sale Order must reach before the corresponding Consignment is created. You may choose that once a Sale Order is packed, the Consignment is created, facilitating a seamless process from picking and packing the order to dispatch and delivery.
The Sale Order data is all transferred to the Consignment, including the delivery address and customer details. You can even set up product mappings so that what is packed on the Sale Order corresponds with what is listed on the Consignment.
For example, if you have a Sale Order containing a carton of coffee ice cream and in the WMS, you have this product listed as a product type of frozen, you can create mappings that will create a Consignment that has a frozen carton listed against it. This will save you and your staff time and improve visibility and data accuracy on what is being shipped.
Nick knows these features will benefit the business and its day-to-day operations. However, he is most excited that his customers will only have one invoice for all their transport and warehouse charges. This will save the team countless hours and make it much clearer and easier for its customers.
