Purpose
Zone Sets are the defined geographical areas your operation uses for allocating deliveries and determining delivery rates. Zone Sets provide the framework and logic for CartonCloud to automatically assign consignments to Delivery Runs and calculate consignment charges. For Zone Sets to work, Delivery Runs, Transport Lanes, and Transport Rates must be set up correctly for each to work together to provide this core functionality. In addition, for the Consignment to find a matching Zone Set there is a certain criteria utilised to find the best matching zone for that consignment. This zone will then determine the allocation and rating of the consignment.
Zone Set Matching Criteria
For a consignment to find a matching zone the below criteria is utilised. Depending on the location of the address on the consignment will determine what criteria is utilised. For example, if the address is an address in Australia the consignment must have a suburb, postcode and state to find a matching zone. However, on the other hand, if the address is in a country other than Australia and New Zealand the address only needs at a minimum suburb or postcode to find a matching zone.
CartonCloud will work down the criteria list until it finds a match, it will look for a full match and then work down the criteria list if none found. Therefore, to ensure the consignments are matched to the correct zones it is recommended the full address is provided.
