Overview
If your barcode scans are missing characters or showing up twice in CartonCloud, check the scanner settings on your handheld device. This guide walks you through the settings for the Point Mobile PM84, PM95, and PM452.
You'll need to configure each device separately. If your devices are managed through a mobile device management (MDM) solution, ask your IT administrator whether they can apply the settings centrally.
Prerequisites
Before you start, make sure:
-
Your Point Mobile device is powered on and unlocked.
- You can open ScanSettings on the device.
- CartonCloud is installed and accessible on the device.
Configure ScanSettings
- Open ScanSettings on your Point Mobile device.
- Tap Wedge Mode.
- Under Result Type, choose Keyboard Event (Single). This sends the scanned barcode as keystrokes to the active app.
- Set Intercharacter Delay (ms) to 1. This small delay can help prevent characters from being missed during a scan.
- Under Terminator, choose LF (Line Feed).
- Tap Wedge > Suffix and enter \r (Carriage Return).
- Tap Character Set > Charset and choose US ASCII.
- Save the settings and close ScanSettings.
Now open CartonCloud and scan a barcode into the relevant field. Check that the full barcode appears once, with no missing or extra characters.
