Within the CartonCloud mobile apps drivers have the option to submit Adhoc Charges for a Consignment, either as part of a POD or Error, or from the separate Adhoc Charges view. Watch the video to see how it works.

Loading Consignment Adhoc Charges

Consignment Adhoc Charge details get loaded when the user refreshes the Consignment list. Existing values for Adhoc Charges will not be deleted on refreshing Consignments, unless a newer Adhoc Charge value is available in the CartonCloud system. Running timers are never deleted when refreshing from the server.

This makes it possible to preload Adhoc Charges for Consignments in the web app that will appear on the driver's mobile app on refreshing Consignments and entering a Consignment Detail view.

Where to Submit Consignment Adhoc Charges

Adhoc Charges can also be submitted after grouping a number of consignments together within the mobile app and proceeding to the detail view. If this is the case then the recorded Adhoc Charges will be applied to all consignments within the group.

Adhoc Charges View

On viewing a consignment's details, if there are adhoc charges available for the tenant, an additional menu tab will be available. Simply swipe from right to left on the tab bar and you will see the Adhoc Charges option. Tap this button and all relevant adhoc charges will be displayed.

POD + Adhoc Charges

When recording a POD for a consignment and if there are adhoc charges available for the tenant, an optional tick box will be displayed as part of the Record POD view.

The tick box is automatically selected if values have been previously entered for any of the adhoc charges.

The values for the adhoc charges can be edited by tapping the value fields (or in the case of a timer also starting / stopping / resetting the timer). See "Editing & Saving Adhoc Charges" below for more information on how to do this.

The adhoc charges will only be submitted as part of the POD if the tick box is activated.

Error + Adhoc Charges

When lodging an Error for a consignment and if there are adhoc charges available for the tenant, an optional tick box will be displayed as part of the Lodge Error view.

The adhoc charges will only be submitted as part of the Error if the tick box is activated.

Editing & Saving Adhoc Charges

Adhoc Charges can either be Text Fields, Sliding Scales or Timers.

Text Fields and Sliding Scales are represented by a Text Field that can be edited by typing into it, while a Timer has a value display plus several action buttons to start / stop / reset buttons. Additionally, each adhoc charge has a button to upload it to the CartonCloud system individually, rather than all adhoc charges together. To upload all adhoc charges for the job, select Save All.

To manually edit a timer value tap the timer value field and it will bring up an edit view which allows you to select a time between 1 minutes & 24 hours. On selecting "Save" this value will be shown in the timer's value field.

Running Adhoc Charge Timers

An adhoc charge timer can be kept running while navigating away from a consignment detail view. It will keep running until stopped or until the consignment is removed from the job list.

When navigating away from a consignment detail view with an active timer, an alert is displayed to warn of any running timers and offer several options on how to proceed:

  • Keep Timers Running: All running timers will continue running.
  • Discard Timer Values: All running timers will be stopped and their values discarded, i.e. they will be reset to 0.
  • Stop Timers & Save Value: All running timers will be stopped and their current value submitted to the CartonCloud system.

Selecting any of these options will only affect running timers. Any timers that have been previously stopped will retain their values and not change their current state.

If there is one or multiple running timers for a consignment, a timer icon will be shown in the consignment list for the affected consignment.
